In 1973 John J. Drndak, current President/Owner of Climatic-Solar Corp (CSC) was teaching Physics and Chemistry at Southampton High School in Southampton N.Y. Members of the science department were asked to suggest new science elective courses. With the energy crisis starting to heat up Mr. Drndak proposed a course on solar energy. The course caught on and was a very popular elective. Mr. Drndak at the same time set up a small solar corporation in East Hampton, N.Y.
By 1979 the urge to get into a small business full time and lure of the Florida sun brought Mr. Drndak to the Treasure Coast. He and Bert Mills, then president of Climatic Corp., started CSC. Mr. Drndak ran CSC and in 1982 bought Mr. Mills' shares and sold them to Michael Adams. Then in January 1987 Mr. Drndak became sole owner.
CSC has thousands of satisfied customers and has outlived more than 15 competitors. No one has been in the solar business as long as CSC on the Treasure and Space Coasts. We are members of the Florida Solar Energy Industry Association and Indian River County Chamber of Commerce as well as the Better Business Bureau. We have to date installed over 8 million dollars worth of solar equipment.
After the Solar Energy tax credits ended December 31, 1985, many high profile, marketing heavy solar business's disappeared. CSC continued its efforts focusing on the value of Solar Energy to meet the needs of the future. We succeeded where many failed; our repeat and high customer satisfaction rate is a result of that effort.
Following the Storm season of 2004, Mr. Drndak saw a need to add experience and leadership to CSC. He contacted Erik F. DeLaney owner of A.R.E. Solar, and proposed a partnership. On July 7th 2005 Mr. DeLaney became Vice President/ Owner of CSC. Mr. DeLaney owned and operated A.R.E. Solar for 5 years, with a background in Construction, Automotive and the Solar industries dating back to 1983. He brings added desire and passion of the Solar Industry to CSC.
Mr. Drndak and Mr. DeLaney's commitment to quality, value and integrity have never been stronger. CSC has set its sights on being a leader in the Solar industry well into the 21st Century.
